Mbweni Ruins Hotel
A charming hotel on the west coast of Zanzibar on the beach, just 10 minutes south of Stone Town and close to the Airport. The hotel runs a free shuttle bus to and from town several times a day, so this is perfect for visiting the shops and bustle of Zanzibar and then returning for a swim in the afternoon, and relaxing over a romantic dinner at the Raintree Restaurant.

Mtoni Marine Centre
Hotel on the west coast of Zanzibar on the beach, just north of Stone Town which has a variety of attractive and moderately priced rooms. There is a first-class restaurant and a lively bar. The beach is pleasant and there is also a nice swimming pool. It takes 5 minutes to get to town by taxi or dalla-dalla.

Emerson's & Green is in a restored historic building which is full of character. Each of the 10 rooms is different, and all are beautifully appointed in the old style with modern innovations by the eclectic and eccentric owners. The famous Towertop Restaurant with delicious zanzibari cuisine has views of the town, harbour and sunset. There is also the Kidude cafe restaurant on the ground floor, for lighter meals and snacks.

Tembo House Hotel
is strategically situated on the beach in Shangani. It is in a restored house which was the American Consulate in 1834 and was taken over by the traders Cowasjee Dinshaw in 1884. It is light and airy with its pleasant Bahari Restaurant which has its own seafront veranda.
The rooms are spacious and decorated in Oriental and Zanzibari style with antique furniture. Each room has AC, telephone, mini-bar, multi-channel television and en-suite bathroom. There is a swimming pool and also a business conference room. There is a souvenir shop. .Marine sports and picnics can be arranged for you by the friendly reception staff. No alcohol is served.

is in the restored Extelcoms House, beautifully situated on the waterfront at Shangani. The rooms are comfortable with all the amenities. There is a swimming pool and a business centre.

Located in the centre of Stone Town, overlooking the Roman Catholic Cathedral, this comfortable 16 room hotel is easy to find and well-lit at night. It is a good option for budget travellers. This is a family-run hotel and is always well maintained and tidy. It has an attractive entrance with oriental lamps and beautiful wood carved doors. There’s a new bar situated on the rooftop where you can enjoy the views over the rooftops of Stone Town while you enjoy sundowners. Breakfast is served in the restaurant a floor down. The building was originally owned by a wealthy Indian family, who spared no expense in the construction and decoration. Most of the fittings were imported from India. The en-suite bedrooms are decorated simply with good
reproduction Zanzibari furniture and have all the modern conveniences - air conditioner, mini-bar fridge, safe and satellite television.
